Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The walk rate is the whole profile. At AA, 21 walks across 126 innings translates to a 2.1 BB/9 in MLB-equivalent terms, well below the 3.2 mark most pitchers run at that level, and that gap is wide enough to carry a guy whose 99 strikeouts don't translate to missing bats up top — the MLB-equivalent K/9 comes out at 6.6, well short of the 8.6 average. The control is real enough to keep him viable, but the ceiling math doesn't clear the bar: even with pinpoint command, a pitcher who misses few bats and works toward the middle of the zone doesn't have the margin for error a backend starter needs. Suarez is a depth arm if it stays together, and a depth arm if something slips.
