The contact rate is loud, and it's telling the truth in both directions. Robert Moore has struck out just 45 times in 314 AAA plate appearances, a 14% clip that translates to 18% against MLB pitching while the MLB average sits at 22%, and he's drawn 33 walks on top of it. The problem is that a .216 BABIP is suppressing a .226 average into something that looks like a liability, and if that contact isn't catching the gaps more often, the hit tool stays a question even if the discipline is genuine. What saves the profile is the ISO: .241 at AAA translates to .176 against big-league arms, ahead of the .150 MLB mean, so there's real thump attached to the bat control. He's either a useful bench piece who punishes mistakes and takes a walk, or a guy whose hit tool never firms up enough to make the contact skills matter at the next level.
