Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The translation is the whole problem: across AAA & AA this season, Murphy's stuff translates to an 8.8 K/9 at the MLB level, which clears the MLB average, but the 4.0 translated BB/9 runs above it, and those two forces essentially cancel into a 13.3% translated K-BB%. The WHIP percentile (78th in the pitcher pool) suggests he's limiting damage despite the walks, but that's the dependency — if the walk rate doesn't tighten, the strikeouts don't create enough margin to be anything more than a back-end starter, and the floor becomes a depth arm. Seventeen starts and 84.7 innings across AAA & AA is a real sample, not a noise spike, so the profile is readable; what it reads is a pitcher whose ceiling is capped by command, not by stuff.
