The walk profile is doing the heavy lifting here. At AAA in 2026, German has held a 3.2 BB/9 across 96.7 innings, and that command translates almost flat to MLB, where the equivalent line comes out to 3.3 BB/9 — essentially indistinguishable from what big-league starters are posting. The strikeouts are a different story: 9.6 K/9 at AAA becomes 8.5 on translation, right in the thick of average MLB strikeout rates, which makes the margin thin. Everything here rests on whether the command holds at the next level, because if it does he's a functional multi-inning arm or setup piece; if the walks creep up even modestly, there's nothing left to carry him past depth-arm utility.
