Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The walk rate is genuinely loud: 73 walks in 345 A+ plate appearances, a 21% clip that translates to 14.1% at the MLB level, well clear of the 8.5% MLB average. The power follows — a .245 ISO at A+ that comes out to .161 in translation, roughly in line with what a league-average MLB bat produces, which means the loft is real enough but not so dominant that the rest of the profile gets a pass. The problem is the 27% strikeout rate, which translates to 29.6%, and for a catcher with a ceiling labeled organizational depth, that combination of extreme patience and elevated swing-and-miss has a narrow path: if the contact rate tightens as he moves up, there's a low-end regular hiding in the .417 OBP; if it doesn't, what's left is a bench backstop with a good eye and too many empty at-bats.
