The walk rate is the whole argument here. Gordon has issued 60 walks across 117.3 innings at AA, and when you translate that to an MLB context, the 4.6 BB/9 stays exactly where it is — well above where MLB starters typically operate. His 123 strikeouts are encouraging in isolation, but a K-BB% that translates to 10.3% at the MLB level tells you the swing-and-miss isn't buying back enough of the damage the walks create. If the command tightens and he can push that walk rate toward something workable, there's a back-end arm hiding in here; if it doesn't, what's left is a depth piece whose ceiling is already named.
