Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The .379 OBP at AA, age 19, is the number worth sitting with. Leo De Vries has walked 45 times in 379 plate appearances at the level while posting a .287/.379/.441 line, and the discipline reads as genuine rather than a product of pitchers pitching around him, because the ISO translates to .128 in MLB-equivalent terms, below-average power that pitchers have no reason to fear. That gap is the whole tension: the bat control is real enough to imagine a useful MLB regular, but the MLB-equivalent K% comes out at 23.9 while the power translation undershoots the average bar, so the ceiling closes into a bench or platoon role rather than an everyday one. Thirty-three stolen bases in the same sample give him a second lever to carry value if the bat settles, but if the power doesn't develop past what the translation currently shows, he's a bench piece rather than anything more.
