Across AAA & AA & A+ this season, Watts-Brown is punching out 11.0 per nine over 110 innings, which translates to an 8.9 K/9 at the MLB level — he can miss bats. The walk rate is the whole problem: 5.5 BB/9 across those same levels translates to 5.1 in MLB terms, well above what the league carries at 3.2, and a K-BB% that lands at 11.2 translated when the league average sits at 13.5 tells you the strikeouts aren't buying back enough of the damage. If the command firms up even modestly he's a depth arm who can contribute, but right now, with a 6.6 ERA and 1.6 WHIP across AAA & AA & A+, the ceiling and the floor are pointing at the same place.
