Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The contact is loud and the power is quiet, and that gap is the whole read. At AAA in 2026, Rodriguez is striking out just 12% of the time across 225 plate appearances, which translates to a 17% K rate at the MLB level, well below the 22% that most hitters post. The ISO at AAA (.129) softens to .125 in translation, both sitting well below average, so the floor here is a bat-control catcher with limited thump and nothing surplus about the walk rate once it clears the Pacific Coast League air. If the contact holds at the next level and he handles a pitching staff, he's a backup catcher with a usable bat; if the power never develops, he's organizational depth at an important position, which is still a roster-construction tool, just not a prospect.
