What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The contact rate is doing real work here, and the power isn't keeping pace. At AAA in 2026, Triantos is hitting .302 with a 12% strikeout rate across 465 plate appearances, and that K% translates to roughly 15.7% at the MLB level — most big-league hitters strike out closer to 22.0%, so the contact advantage is genuine and should travel. The problem is the .14 ISO at AAA softening to a .123 MLB equivalent, and a walk rate that barely clears 7% before translating to 7.1%, both below where you'd want them for a hitter who isn't going to beat you with power. Everything hinges on whether the contact quality produces enough damage to matter, because if the power ceiling is genuinely this limited, you're looking at a bench bat who hits for average but doesn't force a lineup spot.
