Jacob Berry is making contact at a 15% strikeout rate at AAA through 399 plate appearances, and that translates to an 18% clip in MLB context — well below what the average big-league hitter posts. The problem is the translation also cuts his ISO to .128, and nine home runs over a full AAA season doesn't build the case that the power gap closes on its own. Everything here hinges on whether the gap between his plate approach and his in-game power can narrow, because if it doesn't, the walk rate and contact quality make a bench bat, not a regular.
