The .213 ISO at AA is doing a lot of carrying here, because almost nothing else in the profile pushes you toward a real job. Jace Avina is hitting .254 with 21 home runs and 16 steals across 532 plate appearances, which sounds like a toolsy contributor until the translation lands: a 25.8% strikeout rate against league average of 22.0%, and ISO that compresses to .159 at the MLB level, which is right at league average and no longer the carrying tool. The walk rate translates to 9.7%, above the 8.5% MLB norm, so there's something to work with in the zone, but the ceiling here is genuinely narrow — if the contact doesn't tighten even slightly, the power becomes ordinary and the rest of the profile is a bench bat at best. Either he refines enough against upper-level stuff to hold a lineup spot, or this is a depth piece in a roster conversation.
