Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The walk rate is the whole argument. Across AAA, AA, and A+ this season, Gary Gill Hill has issued just 29 walks in 139.7 innings, a 1.9 BB/9 that translates to a 2.4 MLB-equivalent BB/9, and that control profile lands in the 98th percentile among pitchers with 20-plus innings in 2026. The catch is the strikeout side: 119 punchouts across those same levels sounds fine until the translation puts the MLB-equivalent K/9 at 6.8, a full two ticks short of the 8.6 league average, and a 14th-percentile mark in the current pool. If the stuff can play up in shorter stints, he becomes a multi-inning or setup reliever whose command is a genuine weapon; if the whiff rate doesn't climb, the floor is a depth arm who walks nobody but also doesn't miss enough bats to hold a roster spot.
