Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The K-BB% across AA & A is 27%, and that's the number that makes Gage Wood worth watching. He's struck out 139 across 95 innings while walking just 30, and when you level-adjust that profile, the K/9 translates to 9.6 at the MLB level, a full strikeout per nine above where the average MLB arm sits. The concern is the walk rate: his MLB-equivalent BB/9 of 3.3 lands almost exactly at the MLB mean, meaning the command that looks clean in the minors flattens almost entirely once you translate it, and if walks creep even a tick in a big-league zone, the strikeouts have to carry the full load. If the stuff plays up, he's a rotation starter; if the walk rate drifts and the strikeouts don't fully translate, what's left is a depth arm.
