Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The WHIP and walk numbers are pulling in opposite directions, and that tension is the whole profile. Polanco's 1.3 WHIP at AA sits in a strong spot relative to his peers, but 38 walks across 95 innings translate to a 3.7 BB/9 at the MLB level, a tick above what the average big-league arm runs, and his 93 strikeouts produce a K/9 that comes out below average once you apply the same translation. The K-BB% lands at 11.2% translated, short of the 13.5% MLB average, which is the clearest read: the command is good enough to keep hitters off-balance at this level, but without a strikeout uptick, he's a pitcher who needs everything else to go right. If the swing-and-miss doesn't develop, this is a depth arm, and that's probably the honest ceiling anyway.
