Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The .427 OBP at AAA is not a contact mirage — 49 walks against 62 strikeouts in 289 plate appearances tells you the zone management is genuinely elite, and the ISO of .268 at the same level says the power isn't borrowed from an empty-contact profile. Translated to MLB context, the walk rate comes out at 12.7% where the league average sits at 8.5%, and the ISO lands at .188, so the discipline survives the level jump even if the raw numbers deflate. The ceiling here is catcher-who-hits, which at catcher is genuinely scarce, but the whole profile hinges on whether the bat translates behind the plate in a big-league context. If the defensive side limits his reps, you're looking at a left-handed bench bat with a real eye, which is useful, just not the same story.
