Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The ISO is the argument: .209 at AA in 347 plate appearances, translating to a .156 MLB-equivalent for a 23-year-old catcher. That's a meaningful number, and the sample, 347 PA at a level where power travels honestly, gives it weight. The problem is everything around it: a translated strikeout rate of 24.7% with walks that translate to just 7.9%, and a .311 OBP at AA that has no obvious path to improve when the contact rates follow him up. If the power translates and the hit tool firms up even slightly, he's a viable backup with a bat worth carrying; if the contact rates hold where they are, what's left is a catcher who can't get on base enough to matter off the bench.
