What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The power is the loudest thing in his profile, and it's also the thing that needs the most explaining. Braylon Payne's .274 ISO at A+ ranks at the 96th percentile in that pool, and his 18 home runs in 302 plate appearances is a genuine shock for a 19-year-old center fielder — but a .382 BABIP is holding up that .293 average, and when that normalizes, 89 strikeouts in 302 PA translates to a 30.9% K-rate in MLB-equivalent terms, well clear of the 22.0% MLB average. The 38 walks and 22 stolen bases give him a real secondary profile to survive contact regression, and the ISO translation lands at .172 even after the level discount, comfortably ahead of the 0.150 MLB average. If the bat-to-ball improves even modestly, this is a legitimate regular; if the strikeout rate doesn't bend, he settles in as a high-energy bench piece with real pop off the left side.
