Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The walk rate is the loudest thing in this profile, and it's also the thing that makes you squint. At A+ across 382 plate appearances, 87 walks against 128 strikeouts gives him a 23% walk rate that grades at the 99th percentile in the hitter pool, and his .414 OBP reflects it, but that .234 average and a strikeout rate that translates to 35% at the MLB level tell you the contact quality isn't carrying weight. The .231 ISO and 17 home runs at A+ are encouraging for a catcher, and 21 stolen bases suggest enough athleticism to survive behind the dish, but if the swing-and-miss doesn't compress as the competition improves, those walks shrink and you're left with a BABIP-dependent average and fringe power. Behind the plate at a slow-developing position, the ceiling stays modest: either a low-usage backup whose on-base skills make him a useful roster piece, or a guy whose strikeout volume prices him off a big-league bench entirely.
