The walk rate is the whole argument. Tidwell is posting a 4.4 BB/9 at AAA this year, and when you translate that across the level, it lands at 4.1 while the MLB baseline sits at 3.2 — a meaningful gap his strikeout rate doesn't cover for. His 9.8 K/9 at AAA sounds fine until the translation comes back at 8.6, right at the MLB mean, leaving a K-BB% that would come in at 12.0 against a league figure of 13.5. The profile right now points toward a multi-inning reliever or setup piece, and that ceiling holds if he can tighten the zone; if the walks follow him to the big leagues at this rate, you're talking about a depth arm.
