Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The A+ line is genuinely pretty — .305/.389/.513 through 412 plate appearances, with 18 home runs and a 10% walk rate sitting comfortably alongside a 17% strikeout rate. At the catcher position, that contact-and-patience combination is unusual enough to notice. But the MLB translation is where the ceiling conversation gets complicated: A+ power at .207 ISO softens to .144 at the big-league level, landing just below a league-average mark of .150, and the walk rate follows a similar path downward. If the bat speed and recognition that produce those A+ results translate cleanly, a real question across two to three years and several levels, you get a functional big-league catcher with a serviceable floor; if the hit tool fades when pitching gets sharper, what's left is organizational depth behind the plate.
