Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The translation is the problem. Across AA & A+, his 8.7 K/9 looks functional enough, but the MLB equivalent comes out to 7.5, below where a major-league rotation needs it, and his 54 walks in 119.7 innings translate to a BB/9 of 4.2 when the average big-league arm sits at 3.2. That K-BB% gap, 9.9% translated against a 13.5% league average, is where the profile runs out of room. If the control sharpens at Triple-A, there's a back-end conversation to be had; if it doesn't, you're looking at a depth arm who generates just enough contact to survive, not enough to stick.
