Deterministic, stat-grounded reads from the current ValuCast prospect board. These reports explain the evidence; they do not change rank or value.
What the reports say
1 matching report. Stats come from ValuCast-owned MiLB context; peak notes come from the peak projection, not public scouting grades.
The contact grades well and the power is showing up, but the walk rate is the ceiling argument's weakest link. At AA in 504 plate appearances, Estrada is hitting .276/.320/.481 with 24 home runs and an 18% strikeout rate that translates to a manageable 21.5% at the MLB level. The ISO lands at .154 in translation, sitting just above the MLB mean, so the raw pop survives the jump, barely. What doesn't survive as cleanly is the 6% walk rate at AA, which translates to 6.3% in the majors while big-league hitters draw walks at 8.5%, and that gap is what keeps the OBP from doing the work a corner-heavy skill set needs it to do — if the contact and pop hold but the plate discipline stays where it is, you're looking at a second-division regular at best and a bench bat more likely.
